Hi all my lovely DFW friends....hope you are all ok.
Managed to get to the bank today to put the spare money in and am just waiting for OHs comp money to hit my account and then I can make a large overpayment to CC.
Don't know why it didn't go by FP.!!!!
Didn't get to work today as I had an appointment with the police this morning due to the window cleaner calling last night and pointing out the hole caused by a stone and a big crack in the living room window..done sometime between 6th jan and two days ago.I called them as there is a hotel across the road with CCTV and this could have picked something up.Don't suppose they'll catch anyone but it's worth a try.
It's the opening window that's broke(the outer pane) ...DH found a few stones near the car but hadn't noticed the window.
So will have to look at getting that fixed monday.
Apart from that nothing much happening except washing, washing and more washing!!!....
Another challenge for me to add to my list is to declutter the whole house as it drives me nuts.0 -
What a hassle re the window!
But I'm right with you on the decluttering........it is never ending, isn't it!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
It is but it's knowing where to start.I have so much clutter in here and not enough storage space for stuff I do need to keep. The ideal would be to have the loft boarded,a light and ladder fitted and the hole made bigger but I don't know how much it would cost and really want to pay the debt off first but I also want a clutter free house...ahhhh
Yes the window is a pain in the !!! but nothing I can do about it...these things happen.0 -
We have a bloke who advertises in the paper, loft ladder and boarding plus light is £299. I am not sure about the entrance being made bigger. Sorry to hear about the window, hopefully cctv will be there to see.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

That's very reasonable BOB...will have to have a look in the local paper..thought it would be a lot dearer than that...certainly worth looking into.
Police said they would phone me when they've done house to house(incase it happened to anyone else) and checked CCTV and checked on database incase of other reports so guess won't hear from them for a while.
My DD said the dogs went absolutelt mental last fri/sat night about 4.30am but of course(sensibly)...she didn't open the door nor did she hear anything hit the windowbut we strongly suspect it was at that time and I have given the police that info.He also said a couple of cars had had windows smashed on the hotel car park recently so that could be a link.0 -
He advertises in our local free paper and is based in Manchester so no doubt he would also advertise in yours as well as it is only a few miles further north.
Edit to add it does sound likely about the windows.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Thats horrible, taxi, sorry to hear about the window. I know what you mean about the clutter. My living and bedroom *look* fairly clutter free, but the little storage bay in the bedroom, and the whole of the second bedroom, are absolutely snowed under - I have to pick my way around the room, its awful. I got two bags to the charity shop yesterday, and that felt like a start, but there's just so much - I'm going to ask a friend of mine to do a special run to the recycling centre with me, as there's an awful lot that could go there, and that would be quite a start. Time to adopt flylady principles? Fifteen minute boogie! Good luck with it, anyway.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Going to try and stay awake now so that I can go to bed at a normal time so that I can get up in the morning. Will work until dinnertime come home and get DH up as he has an interview tomorrow at Police station(about the accident)..and I will phone the window people and get a quote!!!...do banking, wash car etc etc.
