hi taxi, well done on the not smoking.
We've decided to reenter the house upgrading cycle. Was told our flat definitely won't sell at the moment and has dropped in value even more than i thought it had. so today we did the lovely trip to b&q and bought some internal doors. got the usual problems that we always seem to come across and the bloomin things are too shore even though they are the tallest ones we could get so going to have to hope the carpenter we end up with know's what he's doing. Why is nothing simple? Oh well once their done the flat will be much brighter and i won't feel so down about it.

Good luck with the doors..it's a bad time to be selling at the moment so best to wait until you need to sell. You'll probably feel loads better when it's done.
Trying to work up to the next phase in my house...lol

Thats what I'm doing, little jobs initially, nothing I have to pay out for - but even so, I think it will make a real difference, and the house will be ready for the bigger jobs.

Thats it, isn't it - I've only ever bought and sold in a rising market before, and anyway, I'm not ready to move on, thats why I'm starting to do stuff, and Hypno was mentioning the other day about getting some benefit from the improvements you make, not waiting till you're selling. :money::D

KC that's what i was thinking, i've wanted to put in glazed doors to get some light in the hallway since i moved in, this way we get to enjoy the difference. we were sad last night put them into the door holes to see what difference we're likely to get and it's going to be so worth it. We decorated earlier this year and put in a new bathroom before christmas so we'll get plenty of use whilst we're waiting for the market to improve.
