Dragon..both pooches sound asleep so very peaceful(for now).
Whatatwit..no idea really as solicitor is dealing with it all but to be fair DL have been pretty quick on other payments. There's no rush anyway but it would be nice when we get back from holiday to get the tax bill out of the way and pay whatever spare off the ccs.0 -

Apologies if it seems like Im being arkward, I promise that is not my intention. Just from experience, incase u hit any brick walls along the way.
Just a thought re cheques from the accident, I know from my previous claims, that I had to wait for the cheque as it went to the solicitors and then they paid me out.
I know when my employment claim was settled, that took 3 weeks to come through, but my car accident claim, as there was 2 parties involved they had both agreed to pay half, from agreement it was 4 weeks for the 1st one, then for some reason I had to wait another 4 weeks for the cheque.
This sounds nosey, but apologies again, I'm guessing ur bank account has varying amounts of money going in, just that when I had my compo chq it was 8k, it sent my bank account into absolute panic, instead of being the 5 days clearance it took 10 days, as they were concerned I was money laundering........wouldnt minded as much but the chq was solicitors prinyed chq.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Thanks for that info mum2one..I'll bear that in mind. The ones that I got in my name (as the car is in my name) were large and didn't cause a problem when they went into my account.
The 2 DH is waiting for are only £1800 and £787 and are to go in his account but don't think they'll cause a problem. But best to be forwarned. He can ask when he deposits them.
The lucky thing for us is that the insurance want to pay out quickly as they obviously don't want the solicitors bill any higher. The thing that'stook the most time is the toing and froing between the accountants and solicitors and insurance. Now that's all sorted we should be quite quick.Solicitor got loss of earnings paperwork 10th and I received it 12th and sent back 13th.He will receive it tomorrow and send staright off.
I must admit DL have been fantastic..DH had accident at 10.30 pm by 10am following morning they'd phoned us and admitted liability!!! and as soon as they have had paper work back at anytime from solicitors they have responded promptly.
If they did Taxi insurance I'd get it from them as they've been very efficient..they even asked if we had a replacement taxi booked and if we hadn't they would provide one.
This accident has cost them a fortune....hire taxi, wrote off car, loss of earnings for me and DH,comp for DH,pitts and plating of taxi, medication, medicals, taxis to hospital, solicitors bills, tow truck and storage, new work clothes for DH as they cut his off and whatever the idiot that ran into him cost them.0 -
Thats brillaint, it sounds positive, maybe becoz ur claim is work related, it should go throu.
I know its the extras that soon mount up, when I had my 1st accident, on hol in Devon, by the time it got to court, again in Devon (200 miles each way) I had 3 days loss earnings, accomodation, meals, petrol, back in 2000, my court expenses were over £500, all the lad got fined was £100 costs, £100 fine and 6 points. That was writing his own car off, my car new bumper, side panel, part respray, wrote off a parked van, and ended up a pavement, during this the back end of his car, damaged one shops outside canopy, his front end was in the chip sod. It was unbelievable.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
It's unbelievable what they get away with. The girl that hit DH didn't stop at a junction hit our car spun it around shoved it up a pavement and into the side of a house.DH is lucky he wasn't killed. Our car was only 10months old as well.0

Afternoon all....hope you're all alright and not too stressed about christmas.
Today I've done those scratchcards...double one today..got 10p and 20p.
Been to the garage to have a part fitted
Done the banking
Went to pick up the dogs food from pet suppliers
Filled the car
Popped into factory shop and picked up a massive box of chocolate fingers ...£2.58..bargain
Hoovered upstairs and the stairs.
DH has just gone for a rest before work so will hoover downstairs later, put some more washing on and dry it.
We've had tea left over chicken, boiled pots, sprouts, green beans, cauli and onion gravy.
Tomorrows tea is tagliatelle carbonara..yum.
The pots have been washed as well so can chill out in a bit.0 -
oo lucky you taxi. Apparently carbonara from aldi is fab! Did you make yours? If so what is recipe please!! How is the hound doing? certainly takes it out of em doesent it - alfie was v. subdued (most unlike him!!) when he had his op but once the anathestic wore out he was off again - not good for the stitches but how do you keep them from jumping eh?!!
Sure that dl will want money sorted soon as will want to avoid chaser letters whch will only cost them after all! Mind you my exp of dl was v. different and I'd never insure with them again - even if they came up cheapest...Had to laugh re the money laundering suggestion...after the year you've had me lovely that would be the icing on the cake wouldnt it eh!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Hi ISOM..no recipe to be had I'm afraid as it's a jar of carbonara sauce from ALDI with a pack of ham cubes stirred in and Tagliatelle..the real posh one they had when they were doing Italian stuff but still was only about £1 per bag against about £3 for posh Taggliatelle anywhere else.I t's just a very cheap quick Tea and filling and all storecupboard/fridge stuff that I already have in.
Tess is doing fine she goes between absolutely running and jumping around to sleeping for long periods.(she's been asleep for a few hours now). She's eating better but it's hard work trying to get her to drink.I have to keep putting the cone on her head as she keeps messing with the stitches otherwise.
It would be my luck that they think we're money laundering ...LOL...will cross that bridge if ever we cross it.Sorry to hear that DL were bad with youbut afterall with us the quicker they got on with it the better as the replacement hire taxi was £95 + VAT per day...I'll just be happy when it's all over and I've paid it to wherever it's going.0
