I have an Amex card but have yet to receive a new chip and pin card.
If you have an Amex credit card, have you received a new chip and pin card recently or have you contacted Customer Services to ask when they will be issued.

I have had my Amex Gold Card for about 3 years now. Not heard any mention of getting a chip & pin off them. Not been sent one nor asked. I heard from a pal that they aren't doing chip & pin?~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
In Oct last year, I mislaid my card (left it at a Asda checkout - they kindly destroyed it). Amex sent me my new one and it was chip and pin. My wife, who is on the same account, still has the original card (no chip 'n pin).
In short, I think they will only issue the new cards when the old expire or as needed above. The Pegster

My first Amex Blue had a chip but no PIN. I recently switched to Amex Platinum and that came with a chip and a PIN and it works

It does look like Amex only hand out chip & PIN cards when they have to reissue them. Could be a lot of lost Amex cards soon.0 -
I have an Amex Platinum & Amex Nectar and both have Chip & PIN. They sent out the PIN number before the card as well. You are probably best to call them and just ask for new card as your current one is worn out (the security number on the back is unreadable) or something like that.0

But why do you need C&P cards? Its been posted already many times, retailers should not refuse a card because it has no chip and they have no additional liability when doing so. It is only if they accept a chip and pin card without a pin that they accept liability. Is the lack of a chip causing you any problems?
FWIW my chipless Amex has almost two years to go until it expires.0 -
I have two amex cards and no chip n pin cards yet. Expiry dates not until 12/06 and 1/07£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I just rang them - and they are sending out 2 (Myself and my gf) new Chip & Pin cards - no questions asked.
I suggest that is a far easier option than 'losing' one!
