  • The way that across describes is the way it tells you in the book, the same way we do our drinks, a few relatives loved the hot choc so much they went out and bought them and theirs are all fine. We use semi skimmed milk in ours. I appreciate there could be a dodgy batch (unusually we didn't buy one of them we normally get the muppet made one). If you put squirty cream on top the hot choccy and chocolate sprinkles its truly wicked!
  • I got one for christmas and it started working fine but the past two times I've used it, it doesn't switch itself off and the milk just overboils and spills out. Has anyone experience this?

Looking for the receipt so I can return it to Tesco.
Remember, an Aardvark is not just for Christmas....

I'm sure your right and I would love to know why your machine doesn't have my machines problems. How does your machine get around the list below or do you make allowances for its poor design?

3/ Because the tap is at the bottom, no froth comes out the tap until you get to the last drop so you have to share the drink between the cups and then put them all back under the tap again to share the froth! Bit of a juggling act.
4/ Difficult to get thick froth out the tap. This is because it is spread across the bottom of the jug and a little bit like trying to turn a plate of bubbles upside down and they don't run!
5/ Try tipping the machine to put the tap down low to encourage the froth to run and the machine stuck to the work surface via suction pads!
6/ Lets forget the tap and use the jug itself to pour it. The pouring spout is on the same side as the tap so when your pour the tap fills up with the froth and you can't get it out. The pouring handle should be on the same side as the tap cavity and the spout on the opposite side. In this way the froth would run out the tap cavity when you poured it.

PS: when i took my 2nd one back to currys they told me that was the 1st one that had been returned. lying B...... it was the 2nd one that i had returned! when i went out the store an assistant whispered that they had about 20 returned!

andrew please dont give up on the frothie yours is most definately faulty! make sure you use full cream milk to see if you can get it like mine! no water! get a cup of milk per person add the coffee (and sugar if required) swith on heat and mix (next to off) button and LEAVE it! it knows what to do!!!!! then press the frothie button even have a chat in the kitchen for a few seconds as the frothie can become a social event! then when you get the urge press the tap over cup (bearing in mind the frothie button is still switched on here!)and pour it will froth to it's little hearts content! mine has a heart of froth and gold!!!!!!!!!! and there is no need to think of it as a jug!! it is a complex machine! mine doesnt have the layer of froth you describe at the bottom it looks more like a blended frothie mixture all the way through!!!!!!!!! no need to share your froth between parties there's plenty to go round invite more people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get practising and let me know how you go on! best of luck!
  • To be honest ours does do the froth well - we don't put water in it, just milk, lovely milk coffee! We keep the froth tap on as it pours and its fine, because of the swirling action inside as it pours you 'should' get froth in all your cups and it will empty out.
Bit nasty of the person in curry's to make out it was the first one back. I'd get your money back which you are entitled to with faulty goods, then buy one from tesco for £19.99.
Mr HQ is the main user of the frothie and I know as soon as he's finished making the drinks he swirls water around the jug and then lets it out the tape to clean it for it goes all yucky - the same as you would with the steam spout on a cappaccino machine.
  • Have to add my voice to the growing band who love their frothies! No problems with mine and can highly recommend the very frothy coffees. I use skimmed milk with no problem at all - very high froth to coffee ratio. Don't think the woman from Weight Watchers would sanction the full fat milk!
  • No she would recommend *dust*
