Do Asda still give the £2 gift card when a customer has been overcharged? I was overcharged in November and when I asked about the gift card the Cust Service said they dont do that anymore and, which is very much unlike me, I couldnt be bothered arguing about it so didnt pursue it. I did email asda but they didnt get back to me. If its still ongoing I will pursue it next time Im overcharged

They still had the BOGOF on display today as I bought some - cause it was on offer. Now will have to get and check receipt. Will be annoyed if they've charged me for both bottles.

Thats a bit underhand isn't it? More like stealing than bargain hunting IMO. Lets keep the bargains legit shall we...?

Um.... yeah... thats why I said dont do it. Believe it or not, every time it's happened to me it has been human error. (i.e. only putting the reduced sticker on the top of the goods and not on the barcode)

Today in store I bought 2 bottles of Shloer soft drink....................but only because it said on the shelf BOGOF. LL

I've checked my receipt and it was buy one get one free - so the offer is still on.

Helloooooooooo, ya we do still do the giftcard, but it's at the discretion of the CSD colleague, i'm told not to give them out to every customer that is overcharged as we'll lose a fortune! So always ask if ya don't get it. The schloer is BOGOF still @ my store & if it's not & the sign says it is, take it to CSD & they'll sell you it for the offer price

There is a useful legal point here. If there is a sign stating in large letters that something is on at a reduced price, then that is what should be charged. A small date on it stating the expiry of the offer carries no weight, and is NOT a getout.

The reasoning is that if the sign is there, the offer should be available. The sign is misleading, even if it is not false, and it is deemed to be the price indication to the purchaser. The signs should be removed if they have expired, otherwise it is reasonable for the purchaser to rely on them. Therefore an offence is committed. Never let a shop fob you off with this excuse, just ask why the signs were still there.

An update on my BOGOF. Yesterday I had to go to Asda, so took the reciept from the last time (with the shloer on).
I wouldn't have dreamt of doing this before discovering this site...................I went to CS and said that on my last visit I had been overcharged.
Expecting a comotion, I was very surprised when the guy said 'Lets have a look then', and promptly gave me a full refund. Pushing my luck a little further I asked 'Don't I get a £2 gift card for being overcharged?'
'Yep' he said and gave me a card!
    Easy as that :)
The old saying came to mind 'If you don't ask, you don't get'. Thing is, I'd never have done this before in a million years.
Thanks everyone for helping on this offer.
