Im more annoyed with me and OH for being so stupid and taking it out in the first place! Have updated snowballer (DFD now May 2015:eek:  ) but shouldn't change DFD to much in reality (aiming for Sept 2011 at very latest) as will just have to do it the hard way - save up and pay it ALL off early once other loans (with better rates and which can be overpaid on  ) are paid off. Just means we are stuck with a payment of around £350 a month...
Oh to having an easy life !!!!DFW Nerd #11520 -
OH has just paid off an MBNA card, and reduced the limit down to just £500 because they wouldn't give him a balance transfer rate, and because the virgin card is run by MBNA, he can't apply.
But I have to admit, I have considered saving the 0% and saving the other overpayments to see if I can pull together enough to pay off the bigger, more expensive loan.....especially if I get my bank charges back (hurrah for the news so far, but the banks say they will appeal direct to the house of lords, so we are not clear yet) and any bonus at work (although less likely than in previous years) and any payout I eventually get for my accident......
if ALL of those things come through, I could pay off the 24.9% loan, and that would be an even better achievement......
Who knows!! I have a few days to decide while I wait for the money to hit my account.....
....better get writing some more dooyoo reviews!
Hi just catching up on your posts so forgive me if someone has already pointed this out but I still have 2 pages to read and didn't want to miss this. You can have more than one MBNA card my OH has two (believe you can have up to 5) and you can transfer limits from one card to another my OH had a Virgin Card with an obscene limit on it of £16800 got an a new MBNA platinum with a limit of £4100 %for 12 months rang them up when card arrived and transferred £16k of his virgin limit to new card thereby getting 0% on £22100 or at least 95% of it and transferred the whole lot into the bank to pay off some of my higher rate cards. Obviously the transfer of limits won't help much but he could certainly apply for another card.
Hope this helps.

If it weren't for the fact you were DFW, imagine the stoozing you could've done on that?! Fixed term bond at 7% or something for one year!
I want a good credit score! Actually I want to turn the clocks back one year and become a recruitment consultant proper and develop a career in sales! :j
But I'll just have to make do as a professional!:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

Finally home - and fit to drop! DT, I will look into the OH's ability to get a card....and will report back in due course! Thanks for the tip!
babyhead, sorry that you can't do as you thought. It narks me that I have to save up and do it all in one go, but if that is what I have to do then that is what I have to do......I just can't wait for the day when they are all paid off :T
Hope everyone has had a good day - mine was very long and very shouty....but it is done now, and we are at the end of another week, and another month, just about.
No running tonight - no energy, but hope to do a long run either tomorrow or Sunday. For now, I will collapseSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I want to share that in February I've coloured in a record 21 "Bricks" in my coloured squares picture for 2009. Thanks to Hypno for the idea and this thread for motivation. I have to say thanks too for the "make £10 a day" threads too... helping me to get closer towards my £5K target in 2009. I made £1,050 in February alone!
Great to sit here at the end of the day and catch up with you all.0 -
HIJACK ALERT - sorry Hypno
Walshyboy - I will be working in Projects, there are tons of jobs available at the Uni here - what are you after? I could have a look for you. My Niece is coming out on a one year working holiday visa in 3 weeks and I've already got her 2 jobs! both part time I hasten to add. She couldn't get a job at home and is getting married next year so she is coming out to work to save up for her wedding. It is very word of mouth here, a recommendation is a sure fire way of getting a job.
DD's birthday tomorrow - mega teenage girl sleepover tonight - eek!
