I am with Mudbath with this one my toilet roll is sacrasanct.

Ouch on the blisters what is it with you marathon runners my DH ran the London Marathon with some special plaster on after injuring himself playing Rugby a couple of weeks before. (Never been the same since:rotfl:) Not true really. Actually I felt like I had run a marathon trying to see him at various points on the course start, Cutty Sark, Isle of Dogs, boy was I relieved to see him under the tree at the end of the race clutching his medal, if he hadn't finished life would not have been worth living. Discovered a nice pedestrian tunnel under the Thames to the Isle of Dogs can't remember where it starts and finishes now but an useful shortcut.

I really would let the blisters heal if they get infected you are in big trouble.

My mum has been to watch me do the marathon a couple of times before so she is primed and ready to bagsy the best viewing spots at various places. however, this year she will have my OH, my two children, the student lodger and the Autistic guy who I am raising the money for with her - I think she has her work cut out!

Running the marathon will be the easy bit compared with getting that lot to Tower bridge at the right time :o

Re the blisters - I have iodine on them to reduce infection risk. Yellow is SUCH an "in" colour right now :rotfl:

They had handwash soap from the duchy of cornwall or somewhere - very posh, and no doubt very expensive. But I remember thinking that it is typical, I can't even go to the loo without being reminded of MSE in some way

Apparently DD and OH's qype boxes have been delivered.........hopefully mine will follow pretty soon!

gailey - no special costumes for the marathon I'm afraid - it is hard enough getting round 26 miles without being dressed as Paddington bear or something similar!
