I work out my actual milage which is generally just under the £3 allowance, but I don't think they are too bothered if you claim the allowed amount, as long as you are not taking the mick too much!

The run was nice - I ran three laps around a local lake, so it was nice and peaceful - the only other people there were also jogging/running, walking dogs, or taking photos of the frozen lake. It was very picturesque - all white and sparkly and a reminder that some of the best things are free.

I do have some significant blisters now though, from my new trainers, because my plasters slipped, so I need to get some bigger plasters for next time I think!

My two are skiing until 2, so I will go and get them then, and after that I think we will have a lazy afternoon/evening before we have a busy ski day tomorrow. I might do a little more on dooyoo, and do my meal planning for next week etc, but nothing any more strenuous than that!

    Hello Hypno,

Not long got back from my walk, bit fresh out there, took my camera with me & got some nice pictures.

Feeling much better today, had a really bad headache yesterday & my usual tablets from the doctors didn't seem to shift it, still a little bit "fuzzy" today but getting out for a walk has certainly helped

Ouch ! for the blisters !

My blisters are definitely OUCH - one is 3 inches long by an inch wide - no kidding!!!! I hope I get them sorted soon - I can hardly walk, yet alone run at the min!

I am glad your head is a little less fuzzy, inky, the crisp cool air will have done you lots of good.

I am doing very little this afternoon - have done another dooyoo review, and loaded the dishwasher........hmmm!

Ouch to the blister! That sounds like a monster one! But sounds like otherwise things are going well. Did you reach the magic £50 mark for dooyoo yet? How long has that taken you out of interest? I was planning to try for 2 a day but realistically am more likely to hit 10 in a week or so which would take 10 weeks to get £50 but with the extras from rating am hoping that 8 weeks is achievable.

    Really enjoying doing them!

I have passed the £50 - it took me 5 weeks, but I certainly didn't do a review every day - some days I did between 2 and 4 and other times didn't do any for days on end.

I am really enjoying it, and hope that it continues to be as good. It does take time to build up I think, but it is well worth it, and fun too if you like writing!

I've got chocolate now - I've heard it is really good for blister pain

  • 3" long! Ouch! Have you got some of those special blister plasters, Boots do their own version they are really good, you put the plaster on and just leave it to heal underneath they really do work and it might be worth investing in some till the new trainers settle down. Sounds a lovely place for a run, i ran to the letter box the other day and it nearly killed me! Thought my lungs were on fire! Much to the amusement of my OH,

Got myself a lovely cash book whilst I was out so am happily updating that and wondering what to have for tea.

Thanks for the MS advice. I have been putting actual mileage and think I will stick to that then I know where I am with it. Got another one tonight which is only 5 min away so thats great.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, i'm off to feed the starving masses now

I might nip to boots on Monday in my lunch time...I could go and make a special journey now, but that would not be very MSE, so I will hobble until Monday

It was certainly a nice place to run, perfect weather too - even though it was cold, there was no wind, so it was not icy, and I had plenty of layers on, along with my hat, which always helps when it is below freezing point. But because of the coldness, the lake had a beautiful aura.

Rather than fork out £4 for blister plasters lance it in several places, drain it and then liberally slart liquid iodine over it - 80p a bottle from any chemist, cheaper from a farm shop. This bonds the two layers of skin together as well as killing off any nasties in the vicinity but be warned it stings like !!!!!!y!
