Hugs michelle - not medical advise, just what I have done with mine. Use Calpol and IBup liquid interspersed as per bottle to stop the drugs wearing off. Give icelollies or frozen fruit - frozen raspberries were one of mine's favourite - when up a mountian in a tiny swiz result and they were ill - we emptied the store there of them.

Kids don;t on the whole like to be sponged but keep him in just a vest - see if he will hold a cool flanel - cool his wrists.

    Good luck

Watch his throat (from outside - it should not look like somebody has a piece of string inside and is tugging it when he breaths. His heat could be beating fast to cool him down.

Ho hum, Mr G is working for at least another hour and he's eaten nothing today :eek: So do I stay at home or drop the children off at my parents and go to Weight Watchers, can't decide!

Don't have time to do pasty now if I do take them out. Argh!

Been to DD2's new flat walkround and listened to everything and then promptly forgot it. Luckily there were two other people there!

Got back and got washing back in and hung it back indoors to finish off. Smells nice and fresh though.

    Watched Neighbours.

    Work soon :(

Poor Mr G. If you miss WW will you be able to go next week, if yes and you think you may not have lost any this week then I would give it a miss. If this is the last session before Christmas I would be tempted to drop the kids off and go. HTH

AnW'sMum your cards are here, can you please thank little A and W from my boys too x
There are other cards at a neighbours house will update when I have those
Michelle hope the little ones are feeling better soon, there is a lot of tonisilitis going round here at the mo. I do what AnW'sMum and Dusty does to keep them 'topped up'. Without wanting to give medical advice, hallucinations can be caused by many things including temperature spikes, I would be inclined to call NHS driect for advice.
kaz hope you feel better soon
    goodluck mrs pigpen
AnWsMum if charity shop don't want them I have passed a lot on via freecycle
pigpen hope water is back on soon
Gryfon I think knowing I would worry I would give it a miss
    g&b what a lovely recipe!
PF thanks for the email, DS2s coooing over them all!
Pollybear at least you tried :) thought that counts! I'm useless at those sorts of things.

Just had a right chew with my M&S order, they sent emails to say some items were cancelled after sending a delay notice, went to view the order online and it had vanished! Anyway on calling their centre they are now all back in stock so reordered with free delivery and at the discounted prices. PheW! Then I got an email saying my ebay DVD order was cancelled so have gone with trusty HMV, if that cancels I will scream!

Was hoping the lady who collapsed hubby would have called but understand he's probably busy, so worried about her, she has several heart conditions. I just knew something wasn't right when she'd been gone 'too long' so went to check her and found her on the floor. I got help as couldn't stay with her and do what was best, I stayed with her while the OT got more help (999) and someone got a doctor (luckily we were in a medical centre) then had to wait and tell her husband when he got there which was awful. I just hope she is ok.

Right, need to do some flying, off to see what I can get done, still need to finish making a space for the new desk.......oh and write a list of stuff to think of tomorrow at the house (thanks Pollybear for inspiring that)
One day I might be more organised...........

Can i just ask - every time Charlie's temp is spiking as the drugs wear off, his heart is going ten to the dozen, I've not noticed this with him before, and with the hallucinations he had last night, i am really not liking this virus. Do your kids do this? If he is still ill tomorrow i think i will take them both to the drs - might as well see if he will prescribe the parecetomol at the least.

    Michelle x

    DS3 hallucinates a lot.

Could you alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2-3 hours which will keep his temp down and none of the wearing off symptoms.

It is quite normal for the heart to beat faster when fighting off infection and dealing with a high temp, but it isn't helpful!.

If you are concerned (or running out of paracetamol) a trip to the docs won't do any harm!!.. remind the doc though that antibiotics don't work on viruses though.. most don't appear to know that!
