Also i can understand that very occassionally people do have financial bad luck and do stupidly bid for things they cant afford or circumstances change in the meantime but to give you abuse over it is way out of line and shouldnt be tolerated.

tell her after careful consideration, you have contacted the police, and they have on your request, decided not to take action unless she continues to send the hate mail.

I would also let her know it wasn't you that reported her, but thank her for reminding you to do so.

As a duty to other ebayers, give her a NPB strike!

Email her back, politely pointing out that it certainly wasn't you that gave her a NPB strike, but thank you for reminding you that you were going to do that.
