Parking Ticket Query

Hi, I recently got a ticket; I parked outside my house in a resident parking bay but my resident parking permit sticker thing fell off the windscreen and annoyingly the corner that was not visable had the date of issue/expirary.
Do I have any grounds for appeal?
Thanks,
Nick.

Of course you do! If the question is really will I be sucessful in my appeal it would say it's 50 50. Was the ticket issued correctly (date, car deatails correct etc)0

Yes, all the details were correct.something missing0

OP, we will need to see ALL of the ticket (front and back and any additional bits), as well as photos of the bays and signs. The council MUST get them right.0

Hi Nick - is it possible to scan in the PCN (front and back) and post it here?
Blank out your personal details (e.g. car reg, PCN serial number) and someone can take a look, sometimes the PCN itself can be invalid due to incorrect wording, terms used, etc.
Just noticed I cross-posted with sarahg19690 -
Guys, I appreciate the help. However, I don't think it is necessary to post these additional details as the warden correctly issued the ticket.
My grounds for appeal would be that I have a valid permit, but it fell off the windscreen. Would this be strictly dismissed?something missing0 -
You'd be surprised at how many PCNs themselves are not compliant, but if you don't wish to post it, fair enough as that's your decision.
Some councils will be nice and cancel the PCN in these circumstances, however, they're not obliged to do so.0 -
The ticket may be issued correctly but the road markings may be incorrect, invalidating any such ticket.

The 'grounds' you speak of are no grounds at all. You would be reliant solely on their discretion.
For that particular circumstance IME - about a 10-20% chance at best.
In that circumstance - description of contravention is a common area for error but since you won't show anything - who knows.

Thanks guys, it appears your opinion on relying on discretion was right and I was unsuccesful with my polite letter and proof of permit.something missing0
