Vodafone Con?

I'm trying to purchase 7 no mobile phones online from vodafone on their businesstime 450 tariff which is on special for £35 includes 450 xnet mins and 100 texts

however when you try to place an order vodafone website says:

"We are unable to fulfill your request due to a temporary problem at our end. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. We hope to resolve this problem very soon, so please try again later."

when you phone up to place an order they cant match whats on the website and for the same package it would be £40 (with no texts included)

is this a con by vodafone to get you to phone up and then take the package at the extra cost?

Isnt it illegal to advertise something which is unavailable?

maybe it means exactly what it says - try later

- it isn't unknown for websites to have temporary glithches

If you're buying as many as 7 together then I would speak to their small business/corporate people. You may well do better tariff wise.

for seven phones thats as cheap as voda get

vodas shared tariffs are more expensive than individual tariffs

yep i agree

i just thought that if i phoned up i would be able to order the phones since their website wasnt working......only to be told that yes i could order them but only on a more expensive tariff

update!!!!!

voda have managed to get website up and running.............however.....all phones out of stock!!!!!!!!!!!!

they never had any in stock!!!!!!!!!!!!

no one at voda knows when stock is available!!!!!!!!

i phoned voda sales again and yes i can have the phones now but they cant give do it at the same price as shown online...................what a con

why advertise something that is only available at a higher price than that advertised!!!!!!!

however been speaking to a very helpful chap at voda ......who says hes going to get someone to phone me back later today.....so i can have same package over the phone!!!!!
