Resizing Pictures to fit multi frame mount

Why not try http://www.fotosizer.com/ there is a freeware application which I think will do what you want.

I tried this and it doesnt let you change in millimeters so I don't know what size it is to start with or what it will be to end with its just in pixels, I don't know why some of these programs do it like that, but it was worth a try.
I found this one though which gives you a choice of changing size by pixels centimeters or millimeters, I tried the free version. Its not too bad it worked anyway and keeps aspect ratio.

It isnt as good as the one I had before though that I can't remember what it was. As on that one I could alter it slightly if the aspect ratio of the picture didnt fit the frame size and look right, I could choose what bit to loose if that happened. Plus on that one I could plan the layout on these you can't.
It might even have been windows picture editor which I have now found that they have stopped doing but I'm not sure.
The picture resize does work although if anyone knows of a better one I'll try that. Its a blummin nightmare, I wish printers had this software with it when you buy.Thanx

What about the Gimp, apparently it does most things Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop do but it's free? http://www.gimp.org/
I've not used it myself as I have PSP and PS, but I know a lot of people swear by it.
I couldn't tell you if it does do what you want, but it may be worth a look for a free download. If it is that similar to the expensive programs I would imagine it would have the facility to resize and crop in the way you want.Well I can't stand by the side
And watch this life pass me by

Oh great I'll try that one too, I just looked on download.com and its got very good ratings on there, 5 stars from download.com and 4 for users. It does appear to be free not sure if its a trial or not though, will give it a go and let you know, thanxThanx

If you simply want to re-size various different pictures to produce different sized prints, Irfanview here is easy to use. If you want to make a collage of various different pictures, then something like the GIMP is good but not that easy until you get used to it, as it's like a free version of the industry standard photo editing package Adobe PhotoShop, which costs hundreds. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

It's a long time since I installed Irfanview but you can always change the file associations after installation if you want to. If you allow it to associate with images only, it will then handle all common types of image file. I have Irfanview as my default image viewer/simple editor and think that it's fantastic package. To re-size a picture, simply do Image, Resize/resample or Crtl + R, then select pixels, cm or inches as units. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
The images only has selected about 1/3 of them the rest left over are
ttf
asf
avi
mpg, mpe,mpeg
mov
wmv
aif
mid/rmi
med
mp3
ogg
ra
au/snd
wav
wma
What would happen if I selected them too would it means videos would play through infranview or music and mp3s ect instead of other programs like winamp. I mean would it do any harm to tick those too as I don't really know much about it so wouldnt know if I'd have to add any laterThanx

Basically yes, it can handle lots of different file formats e.g. play music files, videos etc. if the codecs are loaded. At the moment you have image file types associated, which is what you need. You can change the file associations later if you want/need to - Options, Set File Associations. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
