upgrade deal from 3...is it any good?

i have just sent my notice to terminate my 3 contract (12 months already) and they phoned me to tell me all the rub***sh about how much they love me and they were desperrate to keep my custom...anyway they offered me any handset of my choice (including Nokia 6680 and motorolla V3x) free of charge, 500 min +100 texts A month on the following tariff:

- 3 months half price (£15)
- then 9 months at £30
-£94 credit on the seventh month
so it will work at £18/month roughly...what do you think guys of this deal and which is better the nokia or the motorlla ?? I found the nokia on a better deal but with OSPS so i avoided it....thanks for any suggesstions.

Make sure you get it in writing.

My friend has had a similar offer from 3. The new handset has arrived, but there is no written detail about the deal. My guess is that for sure, if he doesnn't get written details, then he'll have a problem at some point regarding the contract and terms.

He intends to badger them until they yield the written detail.
