Is there a limit to PAC usage?

I left Virgin and took my number across to O2 a few months ago, now I think I can get a slightly better deal from Orange. I would use a PAC again to keep the number if I change, is there a limit in the amount of times I can do that? Will I get refused in the end?
Cheers all!

If you are on PAYG then it should be fine moving to Orange and AFAIK there are no limits on the amount of times you use a PAC code to move between networks.
The only restrictions would be if you are on contract then you would be able to move when your 12/18 month contract is up, on PAYG the networks have a minimum time you have to stay with then about a month, the shortest is Virgin which is only about one or two weeks.

as long as you have kept within terms of your contract or within PAYG T&C's and are up to date with bills/credit the network is always legally obliged to give you a PAC code every time(though they can levy an administration charge).

BUT, the flip of the coin is they are not legally obliged to accept a PAC code from you

Does anyone know why Vodafone and o2 are identified differently to the other networks when mobile shops are discussing PACs? On some site, they say they cannot accept number transfers onto o2 and Vodafone, while others (eg Mobileshop.com) charge £10 to accept a ported number onto o2 or Vodafone (http://www.mobileshop.com/customerservice/supportquestion.php/121#vodao2).

Also, many of the sites say that an admin charge may be levied by the network - with Orange I did not get charged but which do charge?

    Many thanks

The Voda and O2 is probably just legacy stuff from teh Singlepoint days where contracts could be via Singlepoint or Voda direct and they had different charges for giving PAC's and also for how they accepted PAC's
