Hubby showed me this last night, couldn't help but laugh. He's selling his car because he has broken his leg. As we all know that means you will never be able to drive again

of course if breaking your leg means you cant work
then perhaps you might need some money?
or if its a bad break then rather than pay insurance for it yo sit there then sell it?0 -
meh, i just thought it sounded daft0

an acute condition such as that caused by a broken leg, can turn into some pretty nasty chronic conditions, like nerve damage, rare conditions and so forthIf my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0

I broke my elbow 3 years ago and can never drive a manual car again...well I can manage it for about 5 miles then it is extreme agony.
What's so funny?0 -
Laughing at someones misfortune? Mature.
It is possible to break you leg and do severe nerve or muscle damage, which would leave you in permanent agony for the rest of your life, making simple things such as driving a car impossible.
I'm glad you find that funny, I hope it happens to you so that we can point an laugh. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Whilst all that is true, bravobeastie is right, he's either explained it badly or he's made up a pretty poor excuse for selling the car. I wouldn't contemplate buying it unless I knew more.0

pull the other one..:grouphug:

well looking again at the ad,the tax runs out this month so they would need topay out for a car their not using(or sorn if they have a drive)
the cars MOT expires in January so the seller would need to MOT the car and have it sitting on the drive (if they have one) or lay it up and MOT it when they are fit0 -

I've never understood this. Why do people care about the seller's motivation for the sale? There are so many 'unwanted x-mas present' auctions.
Why does the man need an excuse to sell his car? It's his car. If you want it to be yours, then buy it. If not, then don't. Why do you need his life story? Will a broken leg make the car run any better than if he had some gambling debts he needed to pay off?0 -
Exactly. It's common to say, 'Genuine reason for sale', so that the buyer doesn't think the car's being got rid of because it's a lemon.rainbow_carnage wrote: »Why does the man need an excuse to sell his car?
It would probably have been better to say nothing than put down something dubious.0
