Number porting
My wife's contract with 3 is coming to an end and we're thinking of obtaining a PAC code to transfer the number to a different provider (either t-mobile or O2).
She hates calling call centres if there is any problem and so wants to take the new contract in my name, but wants to still retain the number which she has. Since I would then be the account holder I can have the pleasure to sort out any issues if the arise.....
The question I have is, if we obtain a PAC code for the current contract in my wife's name and then take a new contract in my name. Can we use the PAC code?
I'm worried that if the new operator somehow cross checks the name, they could reject the number port request. If that happens I'll end up with an unwanted contract.
if someone knows how the system works or has experience of doing something similar, advice would be very appreciated.

No cross checking is done. Just call the new network and give them the code, done.
Bare in mine if the acc's in your name and she ever has a problem they will not talk to her ! If you do it this way you should add her name as a third party and then she won't have any problems in an emergency.0
