NEWSPAPER SUMMARY - Saturday 6th December

For those refused at the checkout... as I mentioned my cashier had a staff leaflet made of heavy type card in which there appeared to be the does and don'ts of coupons. There was no calling for assistance she just referred to the leaflet. She showed me where it stated in black and white the list of supermarket vouchers Tescos will accept. So if you're refused ask them to check in the 'leaflet' at the till, just mention that a 'friend' had been shown the leaflet at another Tescos.
Let's hope this leaflet is at all tills !!!0 -

can i just say that coupon-mad is correct in all she says. push them, ask for "store manager" not a checkout mangager, and get it resolved once and for all. as for spending 2 of them, my store takes them, but sometimes they do make you split the shopping, stupid, but at least i use both. just watch the till were it shows the amount scanned, and ask them to stop at 60, pay then carry on. good luck to all.keep up the boycott folks......every little helps.0 -

awwww thanks!
I know I bang on about this but the Waitys coupon is a ten pound note for Tesco (if you spend £60, or 2 of them if your spend £120).
If you get turned down your store is wrong and you've paid them a tenner too much.
Strike while the iron is hot, and educate your store this week even if it means speaking to the Store Manager. Not only is there the coupon this week but also the coupon policy email update that went to stores last week, both together you have a current coupon example and the proof you need as a customer for them to listen.
Now is the time to drag your store kicking and screaming towards that light-bulb moment of understanding their own 'conditional spend' coupon policy. If they haven't read or understood last week's email about coupons then ask them (politely) to have a look at it please and confirm what your 'friend' has told you is right!
If they say their store doesn't accept coupons say 'this is different, it's not a manufacturers' coupon it's a conditional spend voucher which is nationally accepted by Tesco'. Even if the store doesn't like mocs in general they have no discretion on conditional spends. None. Tesco wouldn't have issued a reminder email if they didn't want stores to still be taking these.
It's not only Sainsburys ones and there's no 10% restriction on these either of course.
These spend & save vouchers crop up fairly often and there should be several to use at Tesco during the recession, why on earth miss out on such savings?
End of sermon...now go and use one but stay polite & calm when you get that first refusal!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The offer is for a Lip Colour Kit, p&p £2.25 or send a 22.5 x 25cm padded SAE with£1.45 stamps attached. You can claim the free lip kit only until the 19th December. Other items to purchase seem very expensive.
Anyone know whether you can get this without the coupon in the paper ? Been away for weekend and didn't manage to find the paper.0 -

I am like you Coupon-Mad.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I have just phoned my local Tesco in Kent and was twice told NO, by someone on customer services.
I said, So why have you accepted the same kind of coupon from Sainsburys and Morrisons in the past and anyway, I know someone who works for Tesco in another county and she says that all the stores have been sent a email re this Waitrose voucher and told to accept them.
Well lo and behold, yes they do accept them says the customer Services manager. The person then asks me, is it only out today in the Daily Mail?
No says I, it's been out since Saturday and you customer service staff don't even know about it.
I then said, make sure all your staff on the tills know, because if I get to the tills with a full trolley and it gets refused, there will be a spot of bother.
So we shall see later.
Rant over for now.:o Not.
