  • Re Tesco voucher in the Mail. Ours has a barcode starting 91. Will this work?
Also rang CS in Dundee who confirmed that their Policy and Procedures guide states that this coupon is acceptable anywhere in the UK ie Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. She said that store managers had the right to refuse a coupon if the policy was being abused but didn't have any examples of such abuse.
  • Hi All,

I do not normally post on here, however I wanted to do today.

Tesco have re-confirmed their coupon policy this week and all stores have been sent an e-mail.

Regarding competitor's conditional spend it states:
"we can accept competitor conditional spend coupons from ASDA, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi, Marks and Spencers, Co-Op and Boots.
For all conditional spend coupons more than one coupon can be used providing the conditional spend is met, i.e. 2 x £3 off £30 shop, £60 must be spent."

For supplier coupons it states there is "no limit on how many different coupons can be presented".
"only one supplier coupon can be accepted per item not purchased"

For those that have been refused the Waitrose coupon today send a letter of complaint to Dundee with your receipt and they should send you the £10. Also complian about the store.

If you look to the left a bit there is another 9, the other side of the long barcode lines. Scanned fine for me but amount had to be input manually

My tesco took the Glenfiddich voucher. Manager had to be called and it had to be manually entered as "other voucher" but £8 off a bottle of glenfiddich. thanks OP and all of the other posters for all their hard work. By the way this was with the Waitrose voucher used at the same time. So great voucher use day!!
  • Asked Customer Services about Waitrose voucher, they checked and said no. Got to check out and mentioned it in passing to cashier. She said MrT had a new policy and checked in a leaflet/card she had at the till and there it plainly said it should be accepted. I said I didn't want to get her into trouble and she said well there it is plain as day that I should accept it. In all I had £15 off my bill, best shop ever.

The cashier was lovely anyway but after accepting the £10 voucher too she deserved a gold star.

I am assuming to use the waitrose £10 MOC we are needing to meet the £60 threshold.

My T's said they take any spend n save coupons from newspapers so accepted the Waitrose one. I used it on self-scan and when I scanned it, it came up "assistance needed". The SA then came over and had to input the coupon value as it seemed to be a price prompt coupon.

So you gave up? Didn't ask to speak to a manager because you know that it's the policy and are surprised they don't know?

After what I posted above trying hard to get people to be confident that IT IS OK?

Each to their own I suppose but don't roll over everyone. Many stores don't know the conditional spend coupon policy but this week is your best chance to see that your local store DOES get to know. Especially with the email posted earlier, having gone out this week as well which states Waitrose as clear as day!

I know I am pushy but it works for me, lol.

I just want everyone to see that this week is a perfect chance to get this properly communicated in your local store. Refer it to a Manager and mention the recent email, all stores have received it. Say your friend who works for Tesco told you about it (nowt wrong in that).

If any problems then why not complain to Dundee as suggested in another post.

BTW I used one but the SA told me nicely/firmly - but wrongly - 'no, Sainsburys version only'. I smiled, said I think that's not the case & asked her to check and she came back and said yes. Then I told the patient lady behind me in the queue that she could do the same so she got a Daily Mail as well. Smiles all round.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
