In that case Addy check out Sainsburys just now, I think its a pricing error but I bought two 3kg bags this week, shelf price was £7.99.  Went through the till at £12.99 but the girl checked the shelf and sold them to me at £7.99 ;)

    :o

Tesco had it on offer too - £9.99 for the 3kg. But only lamb left. Which my fussy felines won't touch. Has to be chicken ::)

I will be calling into Sainsburys on my way home tonight to check this out! £5 off is a fantastic price - thanks E-Lass!!

No special offer at Sainsburys for me...reckon your store was a one-off!

Back to Asda, where it's £10.98 then!!

I've always used Hill's Science Plan for my 3 cats, they are 11 years old. They're now on the 'light' version as one of them is a bit of a porker. ::)

They love it & always seem healthy on it. I think it works out cheaper than tinned cat food, as one 2kg bag lasts them ages. Whenever I give them tins they don't seem full on it for very long & end up crying round for more.
I had a voucher for a free pack of Iams so I tried their light version & the cats liked it, so I might buy that as well as Hills to give'em a bit of variety! I'd never go back to bog-standard cat food now.
  • Alert for Addy!!

Just come from Morrisons where Iams chicken is selling for £8.99 a 3kg bag, £3 off. No pricing error, the reduced price is on a big sign :D

edit: Just noticed you don't have a Morrisons nearby, sorry :-[

I got so excited when I saw it I didn't even remember what the original post was ::)

Have tried my cats on all sorts of other foods. Turned up noses and hunger strike - they'll hold out for at least 24 hours, till I cave in. What can I say? :-[

Just ask your vet, ours told us this although ours are females, apparently it affects older male cats.

you will notice that most vets sell Hills! might have something to do with them having something against iams.

we have use iams for years, since a vet gave us a sample pack.
  • I am never buying Iams/Eukenuba/Hills Science Diet ever again.  Thanks for the link, I am absolutely shocked and shaken.
  • I see that several of you have beaten me to it, I was going to post the Peta info on Iams' association with cruel research practices.

My neurotic cat lives on my bed and won't venture far from it, so I treasured Iams' anti-furball recipe for its non-liquid as well as therapeutic properties - but now he's gone off all dry food and we're struggling. Just had to put his (admittedly rather cheap) personal duvet in the washing machine, and it's been mashed, fluff everywhere :(.

Before anyone suggests Kittimalt and the like, he won't go near it since a tube f*rted in his face :o.

    Anyway...

I would be interested if anybody finds a cruelty-free alternative that their previously Iams-dependant cat can live with. Would prefer dry food as it isn't quite as stinky!

I'll happily try my cats on anything else. They are quite partial to left-overs from the table (in fact they're very partial - scratch-your-hand-off-partial!!) but I find it a struggle cooking a meal for a large family every day after work, can't be doing with roasting them a joint or steaming them a fillet of fish on top of that.
