Tiscali, what the hell do i do next??

Options
Ok folks , since November 07 i've had major drop outs , sometimes for days , my router is redialing every few minutes hour after hour , i'm set up fine here , top quality filter , high spec RJ11 cable to my PC, using the 'toy' tiscali speedtouch modem makes no difference ,

Tiscali have blamed everything from Christmas lights to printers , microwave ovens to god knows what , i'm a mile from the exchange in an urban setting , i've had an ex BT engineer in who said there was noise on the line , checked everything out and said 'its your ISP Sir / fault on the line ', they won't send an engineer out , they say i should get BT out , i said no ,thats down to you ,if there's a fault on the line master socket side or b4 its upto you.

I've had increasing down time due to 721 errors , that is currently sorted , tiscali had major exchange outtages which caused this .
i've been escalated to highest level support since Jan 08 and things were much better from September thru 2 weeks ago , now i'm back to totally random drops , none for 3 hours but previously dropping insanely for the last week or more .

They say my line will only support a 2.2 meg connection whilst most other ISP's report 6.6meg as do various online tests etc, i'm always being lied to , calls cut off and promised return calls not received.

I am contracted to Jan 09 on line rental , call package and upto 8 meg BB,

I've had enough and want to get out at that time but how do i do that ? I've read that i cant give notice to quit until the end of the 12 months so that will make it a 13 month contract ,

I've also read that because i'm contracted to tiscali for fone package/line rental (LLU?) a MAC is of no use , whats the best way forward here please folks ??

Tiscali's tech support is non existent, they just make money out of keeping you on the fone for ages whist every time wanting to blame it on anything but their service ,

They have proven over a 12 month period that they are incapable of sorting anything out , all i want is a reliable connection , its not about speed at this time .

Thanks -Andy

Have you tried connecting to the test socket behind the NTE5 faceplate?

No the OP simply need to switch to an ISP that gives a **** about it's customers! I can't see why they have put up with this for nearly a year.
