I'm a FTB in waiting. I have saved a decent deposit, and just over a month ago I spotted a house that I was really interested in. It was 2 years old, brilliant location and just 600 yards from my work. The drawback was whoever lived there before had ripped out the kitchen and bathroom. It was advertised at £135,000, but unfortunatley it had sold by the time I noticed it.
Today the house has just appeared back on the market...

They want £40k more!!! All for a cheap bathroom suite & kitchen, and in a declining market.

tell them you know what they paid for it and seeing as its a nasty kitchen and bath you will give them 135 and 20pIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
I would have liked to have sold my 15 yr old Rover for £1,500, thousands of talentless no-hopers think they can win X Factor, and the vendor of this house wants £175,000.........
WELL WE CAN ALL DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wait.....price will soon come down.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
MIght have been a reposession? All the repos we looked at in the 90'shad ripped out kitchens. One even had a lovely lounge carpet cut right down the middle.0

Oh good, a whinging thread.
Why can't house prices drop a bit bloomin' faster in the area I want to buy? OK, they've mostly dropped at least 25 grand but come ON!!!! I want a home already.
Alternatively, why can't my employer suddenly double my income so that I can buy a house in six months instead of twelve? OK, I get a nice salary for a nice job but come ON!!!!! I want more money already.
*pout, stomp, whine*
Thanks, I needed that.0 -

The person who developed this property had buying costs, they had to purchase the kitchen and bathroom, they probably had to employ tradesmen to fit it, they have selling costs, they probably have a large sum tied up in the purchase price thats making no interest while tied up and they are taking a huge risk - developing in a plummeting market.
And finally, who on this forum wouldn't like to make a few fast bucks!!!!:rolleyes:Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious!0 -

I'm not really whinging, I am in no rush to move out. Just gonna have to hold out, and keep saving.
Do you think my employer would double my income?0 -

I note the oxymoron in the Rightmove link, which reads 'favoured Persimmon development.'
Handy for Tesco, Focus and the coal tip, though.0 -

We bought one in the 90s, the woman had to sell she caught her OH sha66ing the barmaid at the pub he ran. She thought it a good idea to smash the wall sockets. Mate of mine bought one and the previous owner did a !!!!!! in the middle of the living room.......... Nice :TI came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0
