Just went to look if it had Blue Tooth and lost my reply so here goes again. (Why does that happen?)
I really appreciate all the advice. I will look for the small mouse as I can't have the bluetooth thing. Re Phoodless comment, the books that came with it don't give a blow by blow, do this, do that instruction. There is a troubleshooting guide, a list of thebox contents and a book about what you can do on it. Most things are on trial for 60 days but I will get free stuff after that, especially for anti-virus (Adaware or Avast).
The big problem I noticed today is that the print on the screen is too small. I was sure this could be changed on this desktop I am using and found it straightaway. As the laptop also has a Microsoft system it must surely be possible on there too otherwise I think I might have to send it back. My SinL and sons will help me tomorrow.They went to see available laptops before buying one which is probably a good idea. This was £439 and ordered on line but Sony are always more expensive but I do wonder, with my lack of computer knowhow, if a cheaper laptop would have been OK for me. Below is a list of the spec:
@intelPentDuco T2390 (1.86 GHz and 533 MHz FSB)

15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800) X-black LCD
Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with Total Available Graphics Memory of approx. 350 MB
DVD±RW/±R DL/RAM drive

PS: I hate those touchpad things - I must have static fingers. I have a USB mouse that I plug into my laptop :-)

Yes - just dug my wifes manual out - they're not good at all are they :eek:
I think, as everyone is hinting at, if you are having real trouble then a simple USB mouseshould do the trick. I got one from Tesco's a year or so ago for £6ish and it works a treat...“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
There are easy ways to do this without a mouse. Use the TAB key to move between buttons (you will notice a light dashed "box" around the key to indicate which one you are on), you can use either ENTER or SPACE to "hit" the key then.
Bear in mind that when presented with "yes/no" options, the default will be "no" most of the time, so don't get frustrated if you hit enter to get through each screen and then start going backwards ;-)0
