New Laptop arrived+feel really stupid!

My new Sony laptop arrived today. Its all set up and turned on with the windows box showing UK etc. At the bottom of the screen is the word "NEXT". It's strange not having a mouse but I have worked out how to move the arrow. When I put it on NEXT what should I press to move to the next bit of the intro??
Please don't laugh. I did assume that they would not take it for granted that people who buy laptops would automatically know how to use them. I have used a desktop for nine
years now. Once I get going I will be fine but how do I get going?

There are two keys under the touchpad that do the same job as the buttons on a mouse. Sometimes the touchpad has "tap to click" enabled so you give the pad a quick tap and it's the equivalent of clicking the left mouse button.0

Just tap the touchpad with the tip of your fingerLearn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:

Please don't take this the wrong way - but surely it came with a manual of some sort. Usually there is a "Quick Guide to Getting Started" or something similar ?
PS: I hate those touchpad things - I must have static fingers. I have a USB mouse that I plug into my laptop :-)“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Thank you both. I bought Sony because of their excellent reputation but I don't think their instructions are very user friendly. I was given a Sony digital camera as a gift but the instruction book is horrendous to use.0

I generally use a usb mouse with the laptop and in fact like the small size so much that I use one on the desktop too.0

I like the 'little mouse' it's much more comfortable for me and easier on the fingers!0

It seems to be the way things are going - rubbish instructions.
You have to download these things...which assume you can use the thing to begin with!!0
