problem with Orange upgrade
This is my first posting so bear with me! I purchased an Orange pay as you go upgrade phone on Saturday (7th Jan) afternoon. Orange shop gladly said they could organise putting my old number on new phone and indeed made a call to do this. I left shop thinking that all was well. However I have since discovered that they have a major problem with the Orange computer not catching up with all the Christmas purchases and two days later I am effectively without a working phone. I have made 3 calls to Customer Services who have been helpful but say there is little to do but wait. They have no idea how long it will take for them process my old details onto the new phone and in the meantime I have no credit and cannot make or receive calls! Annoyingly I had just topped up my credit about an hour before buying the new phone! Has anyone else had this problem?

just use the SIM card from your old phone in the new phone? Then it should have your number and your credit still there0

Thanks for advice, Woby_Tide. Unfortunately my old sim was nowhere to be found in the packaging for the new phone although the Orange salesperson distinctly told me she would put it in with the phone! I'm still waiting and in the meantime have a phone which is currently showing no network coverage at all! Having read Martin's recent success at getting free light bulbs to impress his new girlfriend, I am wondering how to blag some free credit out of Orange to compensate for the upgrade!0
