  • when mine was stolen I called my network provider (vodafone/singlepoint) and they stopped all calls and then with the IMEI number they blocked the phone so no-one could use it even with another sim and sent me another sim card with the same number to put in another unblocked phone, hope this helps :)
a please & thank you is all it takes
  • Probably end up on ebay. Theres currently over 200 blocked / barred (stolen) phones on there.

It was payg, I have the IMEI number, the phone was originally on Virgin but i unlocked it and had an O2 sim in it. I dont care about the sim, i just like to stop him getting any use from the phone.
  • I'd say contact o2

    http://www.o2.co.uk/help/loststolen/0,,507,00.html

Pay & GoCustomer Service 08705 678 678 Calls are charged at the national rate*

    or

Short code 4445 (hot key 9) from your mobile
Calls are charged at 20p per minute

Our phone service is open between the hours of 7am and 10pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday

even though your not bothered about the sim they will then be able to block your phone so at least it is useless to the people who have stolen it

  • or you could try the below numbers if you don't want to use an 0870 number,

    0800 970 8702
    01274 388 261

both from the say no to 0870 site

LOL, I bet they wish they could use the hot key 9 on the mobile;)! Definitely call O2 and give them the IMEI, small satisfaction for you at least, also see whether they can give you new SIM and transfer any credit left over(but make sure if you do keep number whether the swines have signed up to any premium text services or the like)

Phone companies in the UK now share blocked IMEI numbers...however; sometimes there is a delay in them informing the other networks just in case you find it.

O2 will bar the sims and the last phone the sims card was in so even if the sims was taken out and thrown away the phone will still become barred.

If the phone was a nokia DCT4 model (search google for models) then its a paperweight once barred unless taken abroad as although its is possible to change the IMEI number on them is would cost more than what the phone is worth.
    Welcome, rogerramjet.
