Anyway back on topic, did the OP get the phone in the end?

    I did indeed.

it's OK - not the fantastic bit of kit it's made out to be but it does the job, and I got what I think is a good deal. The battery life isn't great when you've got a few applications running (namely the browser (Opera Mini which I downloaded for it) and MSN Messenger), but I guess that's to be expected. The phone can tend to be a bit slow.

Using the phone isn't as 'nice' an experience as on other, more established brands, and things like the inavailability of a 'discreet' mode (either silent or vibrate, no subtle beep like on the Nokia!) bugs me a bit but I guess that's a minor issue. The ringtone selection is poor and the camera is pretty rubbish (no flash, night mode is useless) but then they've obviously concentrated on the social networking aspect of the phone.

All in all it's all right, no more, no less. I'd only recommend this phone if it's on an exceptional tariff - for the record, I got a retention deal:

    £20 texter
minus a recurring monthly £5 goodwill gesture
    unlimited (actually 1000...) texts
    200 minutes
    free internet browsing

so for £15 a month it's not too bad.
  • Hi, I just got one of these.... from the 3 shop in the high street. I asked specifically for a phone that i could lock the keypad, then only gain access to use it again by inputting a pin code. They said yeh, definitely. so, anyway, I took up their further offer to delay the activation of the new sim card for 30 days to let my old contract with Orange elapse. unfortunately in the meantime, i couldn't play with the phone as you can't do much without an active sim card. Activated it today, and, low and behold.... i can activate the keypad lock by closing the slider or not using it for 5 seconds or more. Prob is, you can get back in by opening the slider or hitting two buttons by following directions on the screen... so much for the security i need!!!!

    So - my question is:
Does anyone know how to activate a keypad lock with a secure pin code release (not a phone lock - that only asks for a pin on starting up the phone on power up)
OR - anyone had any experience with the 3 instore "no returns" policy???
