    afternoon...........

well..............I'm back from my course (it was an in-house one) and to be honest, didn't bring much away with me, as I think I've been fortunate over the years always being in a positive appraisal culture.....however.......

fate twists and turns, like a twisty, turny thing.........

to keep things brief, whilst waiting for my course to start, I overheard 2 people talking about the job I applied for - and how someone already in the department had been 'earmarked' for it and was going to take it on....probably explains why I didn't even get an interview, but hey ho, that kind of thing happens.........because.....

I thought my phone was off. It wasn't and it rang:o . I apologised and could see it was from the person who arranges the office skill courses I do. I asked to use a phone at the break and said 'oh it will be about the course I'll be doing on Monday'. Anyway, the trainer started chatting to me, what course was it etc etc......at the end, she said (shortened version)......do you have my contact details? always interested to know what you are providing.........I'm thinking, ok, networking etc etc........

...........because my colleague who does the same job as me is leaving next month. Can I mention you to my manager because I think you'd be perfect for it...........

    Another successful Xmas shopping foray:j

Aunt J (the cat breeder) will be the happy recipient of a wee flask hamper for 2. When we saw her at a cat show recently she was drinking coffee from a manky flask out of a paper cup transported in an ancient placcy bag:eek: :D . After Xmas she'll be living in luxury with a stainless steel mug and flask in a nice shoulder bag thingy;)

Also got jelly amking kit and bottles for cranberry vodka. Having a slight issue getting jars for jelly though... Fairly sure a 1lb jar of cranberry jelly would be overkill:rolleyes:

Also got wrapping paper (next year will be brown paper with Bean-style stamp patterns:p ) and twizzly bits.

Where did you get the flask thingy from, that might be a good idea for a secret santa type pressie
