are their any decenet isp's for broadband which don't have a 12 month contract?

yes, but unless you are migrating expect to pay around a £40 adsl activation fee.

I believe the more expensive BE packages only require 3 months cancellation notice, or a relatively modest fee https://www.bethere.co.uk/homebroadband.do
I belive Plusnet also do 1 month contracts, unless you opt for free activation (they use traffic management though).0 -
