You should always make sure you have proof of delivery with a paypal sale of any value, IE at least recorded delivery. Otherwise a buyer could fraudulently raise a complaint of non shipment with paypal and you will loose by default if you cannot provide the proof of delivery

Paypal no longer accept recorded delivery as a proof of delivery in charge backs for some reason. Apparantly the only one they accept is Special Delivery

I'm not sure that is correct. This still shows on the paypal pages as at this morning :

What methods of online tracking are acceptable?

The following options may be used:
    Parcelforce Worldwide
    Royal Mail - Special Delivery
Royal Mail - Recorded Signed For
Royal Mail - International Signed For
    Royal Mail - Airsure
    UPS
    FedEx
    Airborne Express
    DHL
Note: Royal Mail does not officially provide online tracking (with proof of delivery) for the International Signed For service. In some instances however, delivery details may be available online. If these details map to the buyer's postal address shown on the Transaction Details page, PayPal may consider it as sufficient proof of delivery. However, since availability of delivery details cannot be predicted, sellers may not be able to rely on this method for proof of delivery in order to be covered by PayPal's Seller Protection Policy.

Anyway, I still think all this tracking is a red herring. If a parcel doesn't arrive you have to refund anyway whether it was tracked or not so I don't use recorded and save myself several pounds a week. I use a cop for items under £30 and always Special delivery for items over £30.
