LAS VEGAS Hotel Deals

I am visiting Las Vegas in November with my partner, Friday 24th Nov to Friday 1st December. Any money saving tips on hotel bookings. Is it better to book early or will I get a better deal, say when I get to the airport with coupons etc....

Any other tips as never been there before, but really looking forward to it.

Thanks in advance.

Weekends are more expensive. If you dont want to book all your hotel nights I would at least book your Friday and Saturday nights .
Good program to download is http://www.travelaxe.com/NewSite/Information_Overview.asp it will also give you a ful list of conventions that are on so you will know if tere is anythign major onin Vegas that week you would need to book all your nights up now
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

    Hi Richie,
The first thing to learn is to book with the hotels direct---NEVER through Expedia etc.
You can subscribe to an extremely helpful forum lasvegas talk. [Do a google on it.] On there you will find lots of helpful people and the high rollers will share their codes with you to get heavily discounted rooms. The folks on there will tell you when to book. There's another superb forum but I haven't got the details on my laptop. I'll let you know it later.
  • Yup..I agree wholeheartly with bettyr...always book direct. and the earlier the better. Almost all hotels will let you cancel a room booking until around 48 hours before you are due to arrive (check your t&cs!). Last year, I booked 5 nights (Sunday to Thursday to get the cheaper rates) at the Monte Carlo. Then, periodically I would check their website to see if the prices had gone down. About 5 days before we were due to go the prices had gone down for the Sunday and Monday nights but much higher on the other 3 nights I had booked. I just rang them up and told them I wanted to rebook the Sunday and Monday night at the lower price which they did with no problems! Therefore you get the best of both worlds by booking early.....if the night you book turn out to be very popular by booking early you get a much better price...else if they don't have that much demand and they reduce the price you can just get them to reduce your price too! :D

    checked rates with travelaxe.
    Aladdin-travelaxe best rate $914 find-rooms rate 414GBP
Circus Circus-travelaxe best rate $415 octopus travel 310GBP
    Stratosphere-travelaxe best rate $422 find-rooms 298GBP
    Golden Nugget-travelaxe best rate $703 hotelpronto 189GBP

Sometimes US suppliers are cheaper, other times UK depending on hotel.
Id search as broad a choice of suppliers as possible. Other thing, booking direct means you may be subject to exch rate fluctuations.could be good-could be v.bad

Budget your so right its always best not to rely on one source.
IMO ...I find that finding the right hotel THEN searching for the best deal at that hotel like you say sometimes UK site sometime US ones and then hunt for codes or coupons that might give extra discount.
I like to pay up front not on check out that way no nasty supprises wait you at the end of the holiday

  • 1. Select a hotel on the strip towards the centre. Flamingo, Ceasers, Bally's, Paris, Barbary Coast, Imperial, Belagio, Venitian, Mirrage, and Monte Carlo are all in the best location at the centre of the strip.

    2. Book direct with the hotel through their website as soon as possible, then if you see a better offer then you can always change it. We notice that prices go up nearer the date.

Remember Vegas hotels (casinos) are massive and it can be a very, very long walk just from your room to the strip.

My tip is to book the Flamingo because it is a shorter distance from rooms onto the strip, it is also in the centre of the strip. Once your are there, you will be really thankfull for the shorter walk which means you can spend more time enjoying yourself! The Flamingo also has an amazing pool and flamingos too.

If on a low budget then the Orleans is great value plus they provide a free regular bus to and from the centre of the strip.

The local Vegas newspaper has a very good forum where you can ask questions to locals and tourists http://eforum.reviewjournal.com/lv/
