It must depend on your route then; I'd be very surprised if you've never made a journey where your ticket is checked more than once... .0 -
i would challenge the d/l thing, as the paper part wouldnt last long in my wallet..
and i thought the UK had a default 'innocent until proven guilty' status.. it seems more often than not the public have to fight to prove they are being wronged..
procedures and 'covering of ones' back passages' seems to have overtaken any common sense, or discretion nowadays..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -

i think there are too many rules and regulations that have not been update with regard to todays technology. I am aware we have rules and laws to protect us otherwise the country would be lets say knackered.
But surely if in todays technological information we can get facts and information at a our finger tips.
This thread has runs its course regarding the fine subject matter, ill pay the fine on monday. I'm not happy about it but it has to be done.
We all can be stubborn, I can be at work if i want to just to follow the 'rules' and not let people go about their lives because i can make no commonsence judgement on letting something pass, just because i can or 'can't'.
We all as human beings can do this but it makes the world a sad place to live, regardless of what you say.All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
if we all had an attitude like yours, well..... i cant be bothered.
You see, that is exactly the thing. I don't have one. All I have done in this thread is provide facts and tried to explain that despite what you think, you are no different to anyone else in the UK and rules and laws apply to you and your daughter the same as everyone else, but you seem to have a problem accepting it as others picked up on.
She IS in the wrong, and she IS guilty of doing what she did and you (or she) will have to pay for the mistake. It has been explained why you need to carry a railcard with you, and why the fact of owning one is meaningless if you don't carry it with you, but you are still banging on about it. You might not like answers that disagree with yours, but if you are of that nature then you should not have asked for advice in a public forum. Life goes on, and this really is not that a big deal.0 -
Sad... but not a criminal.
Actually i have just checked with a friend of mine who has legal knowledge, and my daughter will only become a criminal if the fine is not paid and it went to court and the court rules in favour of National Express.
As this has not gone to court or any legal action yet pending then my daughter is NOT a criminal and cannot be classed as one.
........END OF!All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

Let me just ask you one question, and hopefully you will answer it.
If you bought an item from a shop and lost the receipt would you ever take it back for a refund or an exchange knowing that you had to produce the receipt?
its just something simple. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0
