Hello everyone,
good people I can talk to!
I have gone to work today but really shouldn't have. I have very little voice as it hurts like hell to talk. and coaghing leads to a burning throat and lungs. the sooner I am over this the better.
todays list
- check banking
- check mobile phone spend
- use box of tissues at work
- washing at 30
- clean and tidy kitchen
- clean and tidy living room
- clean and tidy bedroom
I think that is all, looks short but that will all take quite a while I think. if I do more I can add to my list later.

Boring sensible thick black tights today for me - am sparkling on the inside though!
Anyway, today I will/have...- Brought lunch to work (leftovers from tea last night)
- Making enchilladas for tea (have all the stuff in cupboards already)
- Charging phone at work
- Checked banks etc - one odd transaction so rang them to sort it out
- Walk dog for free exercise
- NSD apart from a can of pop at work
- Try baking something tonight
- Find mortgage details
- Buy inflatable bed for Xmas visitors
- Surveys - been screened out of 3 today grrrr!
- Do mealplan for the week
- Tweak shopping list for weekend
- Find cheap TV on internet for mum
Have a good one!0 -
Made a snooty-sounding frittata from leftovers for a hearty breakfast:
Eggs, red and white onions, garlic and chilli, gruyere, potatoes and parmesan
This did two people for a big breakfast and there's still a slice left for tomorrow!
We got a nice surprise after moving house (Council Tax DDs will start in January), so paid some of the 'free' money towards what I owe mg GF (now less than £100!)
Checked that my cashbacks for a few Quidco things had tracked ok.
Checked interest rates on savings accounts (although this just annoyed me

Nowt for me - cheap lunch at work and that's about it.
Oh, doing my washing tonight at 30 degrees, walking back home tonight and that's about it.
A poor show!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Not much for me today, eating food at home (fishcakes, beans, chips sounds good). Waiting for postie before doing milk/bread/cat food run at tesco's. No heating on as yet but fleecy clothes make up for it. I'm not cold. Still working on website, I have things planned in my head and they starting to come together slowly0

Ok BGB
- you have walked to work, saving money, co2 and getting free exercise.
Accessing cheap lunch at work, saving electricity etc
Walking back home, see the first comment well done you
And then doing a low heat wash................thats not exactly nothing is it???? Nor is it a poor show! - small steps remember!!
Rachel sparkling is what counts

I walked to work (admittedly the snow had a hand in that one!) And I'm just generally trying to stay out of mischief! Have had to buy food today as I was carrying so much to work (change of clothes and shoes!) I had no room in my bag for food! Still, it's the first time in a month!0

Hello everyone,

ps. I can't stop giggling about the sock infestation... but laughing hurts! please stop making me laugh!!!
KT sorry.................:D
Don't you get them too? Or is it just an Orkney thing? I seem to remember we have always been blessed by the infestation of the sock - each room usually has a mutant run away brigade........stripes, spots, flowers, socks of a single colour (we have a few not to be sockist) we once had a sock hunt.
Actually thats a lie, we have regular sock hunts - on to sock hunt no 13 in the MCKGRANT household.
Principle of a sock hunt is to rid the deviant socks of the notion that escape is possible by repairing htem with their very lonely (right footed) partners.
2p a sock for a single sock found and brought back to the pound (generally an ikea bag)
5p for a pair of socks gratefully reunited with each other
Kids LOVE it - (quite like it myself) everyone dashes aroudn the house, no drawer unrumpled, no sofa safe - at the end of a good hunt we generally fill an ikea bag with socks, the actual event is similar to carnage but its great fun and the socks appreciate the effort that is put into seeking out their long lost renegade partners. Think that those with bad sock infestations should have a go.
How do you know if you have a bad sock infestation?
Look at your odd sock stash (we ALL have one)
- no odd socks (no infestation), (hmm yeah right.....)
- a few (probably nothing to worry about but keep an eye)
- many (oh dear),
- humungous amounts of odd socks (you have a problem seek immediate help),
- more odd socks than pairs (have a SOCK HUNT immediately!!!!)
Go forth and have fun, free exercise, moneysaving as you find your socks, keep warm, have a laugh and use up your 2p's as payment to you best sock hunters.
I am writing a report - WHAT do you expect from me???? Sense?Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
