Thursday 4/12/08 What small dfw things hve you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking
  • move some spare cash to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • add some coins to sealed pot
  • swim nd jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • have a no spend day
  • not use car
Hi Guys, was expecting snow this morning but have just got heavy rain:rolleyes:
hoping for a quiet day today at work. Hi to all the regulars and welcome to any new posters:D Wearing stripey socks this morning for motivation:D

Catch up with you all later.

  • SM stripey socks too - murderous heavy rain here as well, where oh where is the snow.

    Um today
Did list for cleaner and asked DD to get organised and end the sock infestation that was in the living room - you need ot watch these socks otherwise they are out of the nearest duct or crack in the window - (they dont look like snakes for nothing you know) There's a nest of them contemplating something in the other living room as well, they are behind the sofa and they currently don't know they have been rumbled - I will let you know how it goes later. - What is it with socks and this need to break free of perfectly good partnerships and hide in crevices?

    Anyway I digress
Today - I will write a HUGE chunk of my report (yeah the same one)
    Check bank later
List for cleaner, done back porch already so will see if she gets through the rest today (she likes to lurk in the back porch bit)
Old sofa is coming home HURRAH wonderr if I will like it!! (Bl^^^dy well better)
Need sort some washing out, only one hokey cokey this am
House is remarkably tidy - I suspect a coo or something or other has happenned and no one is telling me
Phone garage re sulky citroen, whilst i dont mind pushing my car every day to get it started its getting a bit boring
Darwin dude needs petrol (vw camper) so driving him today
Free wood to pick up at work
Email nice man who has offered to do some chainsawing in excahnge for wood, I LOVE freecycle.
Um teas done from cupboard, resisting buying anything else from shops
Need to do a tea list for dear lodger chap
    Done his room
    Post milk money
Um not sure what else, oh yeah charge phone and laptop at work
Pay electricity and take another reading.
Um think thats it - now in to work and stuff

    xxxxxxxxxxxxx

(PS and everyone, chins up its Thursday and ACT quickly if you discover a sock infestation in your house (under beds, down the side of the sofa) otherwise they will escape and you will be left with very lonely single socks - I htink its the left ones which are deviant - the right socks seem so much more complaciant and like to stay at home.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

I'm quite early this morning, I decided to post here before reconciling the company bank account instead of the other way round  (There's so much overlap betw work and home sometimes, it feels like a busmans holiday when I'm monitoring cashflow - but my boss is impressed by my spreadsheets ;)
Got home at midnight last night to find the washing machine "stuck", my solutions ended up with an awful lot of water all over the floor to be mopped up. I may have mended it........

So today, wet and dark, grey woolly socked, I have/will
    • had breakfast, and brought in packed lunch. Used up elderly cheese and HM bread. :D
    • another NSD
    • not be going on the M&S web-site.......:o
Not a lot, but it is first night tonight and it makes for very long, busy days. I could do without a malfunctioning washing machine. Perhaps it objected to doing the Hokey Cokey on its own? :p
