    Sure thats easy enough to guess unless of course the history lies or a hacker has got into the computer!!!Trouble is he knows even less about computers than I do infact I feel quite pleased with the progress I'm making. I don't like being lied to when I have the evidence its worse than the original issue! Hope that answers your question and I can get my computer fixed

    I generally don't use System Restore.

    Acronis TrueImage, can pick up version 8 for £10-15. One of the most useful pieces of software you can get.

    Just set up the system perfectly, make sure only Windows and apps go onto the Windows partition, store all your documents/settings etc... on a seperate partition. Take an image. Every month or two, restore back to the image, run any updates, then re-image.

    Just means I always have a perfectly setup/tweaked/clean setup that I can restore to in a matter of minutes, instead of hours re-installing Windows.
