Has anyone had a case where deleting spyware trashes their internet connection? I was forced to copy the removed spyware back to get the connection working again. This is because it had installed LSP services and removing the program breaks the LSP chain. I plan to use "Winsock XP" to refix this when I have a 2nd try but am waiting for a quiet moment as we can't be wihout the PC. I think that Winsock XP makes it own backup of the Registry in case of trouble. If anyone else has experience of this, let me know!0

This is one of the best sites I know for helping getting rid of malware http://www.pchell.com/. It has helped me with stuff all the biggest and best virus and spyware checkers could not deal with.0

That link does not work and even looks a bit suspect. I used standard S&D already and regrettably it did not remove the specific piece of spyware I have. I know how to remove it manually but doing so (I tested) breaks my Winsock. Need to see if anyone else had this but fixed their Winsock succesfully.0

There is a general issue in that many latest spyware components insert themselves into the Winsock services chain and just deleting the spyware components will break the internet connection. I think I know how this will be fixed - by using a utility that rebuilds the Winsock - but wanted feedback if anyone else has been through this experience.0

Sorry I made a mistake posting the link, that's why it did'nt work. Here is the correct link:

You should take off the software that caused the problem, then use Spybot to fix the LSP socket.0 -
