Hi Taffy
Sorry, I meant if you could create a new thread and post the malwarebytes log & Hijackthis log in it but not in here (Malware/Spyware Removal Guide).
Just title the new thread something like "Please can Someone check these logs"
Just copy & paste the logs from here into it and one of the resident experts will have a look when they have time.
When was the last time you did a windows update also did you use McAfee before AVG on this computer?0 -
i currently use spyware doctor with anti virus... one of the best in my opinion.. picks up allsorts of nasties... never had any problems with it
i got mine for £29.99 per year
you can download the free one just to see if u have any nasties on ur laptop/pc but if it does find anything then u have to buy it to remove them, but its worth downloadin the free one just to see wat it picks up :j0 -

I am a Technical Manager for a large production company. One problem which rears it's ugly head once in awhile is one of these trojans. They are classed as malicious sotware and can be a real pain to resolve and get rid of. AVG, Mcaffee and many of the other virus protection softwares will not protect you from these.
These malware's can be picked up from unsecured websites and attatchments in email. They are most commonly caught via links on social networking sites. In other words, avoid links on facebook/twitter that take you outside of that website. And never download/open attachements from unkown people, however tempting they may sound.
Malware Bytes is a great programme and will get rid of any unwanted software, however. Like any normal virus, they are changing. The coders that create these anoying pests are getting smarter.
The latest batch will prevent malware bytes from working/installing. So here are some tips that may work.- Once downloaded, rename the installer. Call it whatever you want, as the malware looks for the default installer name and blocks it.
- If you have already installed, change the executive name of malware bytes to something different. Again, the malware blocks the exe from working to protect itself.
- Use alternative software. Always research before hand, do not download software which you are unsure of. There are plenty of malware removing software which gives you a months trail. Download, install and run.

I just got hit with something called Vista Smart Security,my McAfee had expired on my new laptop & I had'nt got around to replacing it with AVG.
Ended up running Malwarebytes & Spyware Doctor to remove it.
It's a sneaky little programme,I thought it was genuine until I did a web search.
Got it off in the end tho but it took a while!!0 -

Before you do this, please search this forum for AVG, it seems to be getting worse with each version.
Consider one of Avira, Avast or Microsoft Security essentials.Move along, nothing to see.0
