Id hazard a guess its a protected file thats needed
With it being AVG its quite possible its a false positive. Whats the actual full name of the place and file?:idea:0 -

These messages must have been coming up for a long time but my partner is not very good with the pc and I am not much better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have gone on google and searched for trojan horse removers but am afraid to download one in case it has other things attached to it. Any suggestions what to download and some help with what I should do.
thanks Taffy0 -
Hi Taffyscot
a message came up from AVG it came up with a message saying that it has 700 trojan horses and cannot get rid of them. What do I do? Do I pay for the AVG that is not free and then will AVG get rid of all these trojan horses or do I need to do something else.
Are you sure you got that message from AVG?
It sounds like a rogue antivirus programme downloaded onto the computerand is asking for payment to remove bogus threats it says it has found.
Follow RIKs instructions in post #200 on this thread and then post the log files in a new thread.0
