Paygo-iphone
Hi.
Am thinking of getting a PAYGO Iphone and depending on whether I'm able to sign up to O2 simplicity or not, use that sim in it or have it unlocked and use my current Orange Sim.
Was wondering:
1) Will I need to get it unlocked to use the O2 Simplicity sim?
2) Will it work with my orange contract sim if unlocked?
3) What features will I be missing out on if I use either the Simplicity sim or the Orange sim?
Thanks in advance for any help.

When the iPhones first came out there were stories around that if they were unlocked the could be remotely zapped which wiped the whole phone making it a useless piece of plastic. a payg iphone is "unlocked" and you can use the simplicity sim
however orange do charhe quite a lot for their data, whereas o2 can bundle unlimited data for 7.50 month.
with an iphone u will need this: features such as weather, maps, email etc all use data
Biggest Win: £5000
Last Win: 20130 -
Thanks Sexyboy.
What is visual voicemail?

You can take the PAYG iPhone ,
ul get 12 months of free data usage and wifi along with it (equivalent to free £15 per month)
The iPhone can be used with any o2 sim , PAYG Simplicity or a contract sim from another phone , while ul nt be having the web and wifi for free and ul be spending £15 extra for it.
as for orange sims , there is no software unlock for iPhone 3G as of now , but people claim to use SIM Trays which i am not quite sure they work or not.
So the best thing is to stick to PAYG if u take it , since u get free web usage.
else catch hold of friend at o2 or McDonalds and get 30% off on ur Contract , that saves quite a lot

I'd rather have an contract phone, but the reason I'm leaving Orange (if I'm accepted by O2 - still being decided after an initial rejection) is cos I don't want to sign another 18-month contract so the Simplicity sim seems the best deal for me, especially as I need bills for my tax and I can't face the hassle of topping up. I may add a data bolt on to my Simplicity sim. Thanks. D x0

so if i understand this right if you get an Iphone payg you get the data free for the first year and you top up as you please, but the phone will also be "unlocked" so i could put my current sim in it but have to pay for my data if I use any. I currently have payg with orange that gives me free mins and text and some free data as I rarely use data and don't want an iphone for data use could I just use that sim?0
