3 contract phone

Hi all,
My brother has a contract with 3 He is paying £35 a month for this:
voice-400 mins
video-25mins
texts-250
downloads-E500 (whatever that means)
Inclusive mms- 25
In my opinion i think he is being robbed, he should be getting more for his money or paying less for what he has.
I was thinking of phoning 3, any tips on what to say i really want to either drive down the cost or get a real bargain.
I will have to phone for him as he says he dosent do things like that, i think he is happy to just pay that but what would i need when i phone would i need like a customer number or something.

That sounds a bit of a rip off to me yes but I've never used a phone for downloads so I don't know about that. I used to get 500 mins and 100 texts for £35 a month. I now get that for £25 a month because I upgraded last week and negotiated a better deal, including a new phone. When is his contract up? If it is up for renewal then you may get a better offer out of them but phone anyway as you never know. Even if the contract isn't up he may be able to change to another price plan that is more suitable. Does he use the downloads and the video? I bet it is the 25 mins video that makes it expensive. If not then swap to a plan that doesn't have video/has less video.

It will help to have a copy of his phone bill as that will contain all the information that they need, including acc number. Dial 333 from his mobile phone and select the option 'I'm thinking of leaving 3'.

i dont believe he gets just 40 voice minutes, i think you meant 400 but anyway you forgot to mention what phone he got for that. i bet its a N96 or a HTC or a blackberry.

ITA sounds like he is paying a premium for a high end phone,though not on any of the current tarriffs as far as I can see.

Is he out of his fixed contract term?

It's one of the old Video talk and text tarifs (VTT750) I'm on the same one but have a £15pm 'loyalty bonus' but not a top spec phone. Phone three, see when contract expires (should have done unless he's had an upgraded phone at some point) and see what they offer you. You should get a better price than that with an older phone.

yes this is a very old plan from 3 & at the time represented excellent value at the time....the sector has moved on & much better plans are available outside on every network
