any ideas...
when i contact the provider they say - you are on the lowest tariff and thats all we can do, when i ask about canceling my contract they change the subject or hang up  !

Basically, they will charge you what is remaining on the contract...for example, it your 9 months into the contract @ £30.00 a month you would need to pay the outstanding contract amount of £90.00.
Who do you have the phone contract with? £30.00 PM seems a tad high for the lowest tarif available...or are you in a contract where you cannot change for 6 - 9 months?Welcome, rogerramjet.

i have my contract with orange, no they didnt say anything about not changing contract although everytime i speak to someone they say i am on the lowest - i think not too, heres a break down of my bill -
yp120 direct: 120 inclusive minutes: £21.28
250 text: 250 inclusive text messages: £0.00
charges excluding vat: £23.44
vat @ 17.5%: £4.10
other charges (orange care): £5.00
Total: £32.540 -
on orange you should be able to change tariff after 6 montsh.
you certainly can stop the orange care which at least saves you £50 -

Ask Orange to transfer you to their OVP (Orange Value Promise} tariff. Choose one of the following:
£14 Vodafone Business - 0 minutes included
£15 Vodafone Anytime 30 - 30 minutes included
£16 T Mobile Relax 25 - 25 minutes included
£16 O2 25 - 25 minutes included

Awesome advice there!
Don't forget to cut out the orange care, it's an unecessary premium.
Also, have you contemplated selling the phone you don't use on eBay?

Don't Orange offer a data only plan for £10/mth, and I think Vodafone do one for £5/mth.
Cancel the Orange care
Saving £25 per month0 -

If you take up an upgrade offer and get a new phone from them, then yes, you will be entering a new 12 month contract - but not if you just want to downgrade your tariff (after 6 months) until your contract expires.0
