When can you upgrade?

Hi, my contract is up in April and i know most places only let you upgrade in the last three months. It is an 18 month contract, will anyone let me upgrade sooner?
I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)

Usually it's only the month before, but if you're a decent customer it can be 3months, but that's not the norm...

The answer also depends on the provider. With Vodafone its 2 months which is then added onto the duration of your new contract so they keep you in contract for the same period. Before they didn't add the 2 months on but finally they realised you could have 6 12month contracts in 5 years and they were loosing out on the handsets. They must have had a good accountant. :rotfl:

Remember if you're afforded an early upgrade and you're not in a position to give your months notice, you're in a much weaker position, if you're trying to negociate a deal.
