A search will show that 5-6 if ignored and 8+ if contacted. Have a good read of the cases.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

A lot of this reminds me of a similar scenario in work. We are a big company employing thousands, every 12 months without fail we receive an invoice from a company alledging maintenance of a security, something they stopped doing some years back. This gets passed to me and obviously I ignore it along with threats of court action if it remains unpaid till next month etc etc and the story goes on. NOTHING ever happens and we receive another the following year !0

Thank you. I was starting to panic but having read more on this forum it seems that I am definitely not alone.
I checked with my local council department and even they told me not to pay!!!!
I am going to wait and see what happens.
These guys just aren't leaving me alone. Have today received a letter from their Debt Recovery company instructing me to pay £141.75 (the original notice was for £45) otherwise they will be seeking a CCJ against me. Do I still do nothing?0 -

I doubt if that is an actual debt recovery company. It's probably another desk in the dingy office the parking company operates from. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I received a private parkig ticket because i parked too long in a gym car park, reason i simply had broken don, i placed a note in the window to advise the warden i was inside awaiting recovery, but he ignored this and gave me a ticket. i wrote a letter to explain and have since been sent to a debt collectors who are saying they will be taking me to court. can they do this for a now £95 ticket and can they effect my credit rating?0

Just ignore and don't communicate with them again. They will not take you to court and your credit-rating won't be effected. Please read other threads and replies on this forum if you want any more assurance on this matterWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I have PCN for parking allegedly in an "unauthorised manner" I have been advised by Trading Standards that the best course of action is to follow complaints (did that been told to naff off effectively) then pay under protest by cheque which if they cash I can use to reclaim money by small claims court.
Everything here is saying do not communicate, yet the powers that be are saying do .....Start info Dec11

Well, follow "the powers that be" advice if you prefer to part with your cash ! Most MSE members seem to prefer to hang on to theirs.0 -
I have been ignoring letters after I was ticketed in a private car park since march . I originally wrote to them refusing to pay and pointing out I couldnt afford to pay, and also pointing out that a previous conversation with their ticket guy he had said as long as i was working in the building at the back and I put a note in my window saying so he wouldnt ticket me .
After reading posts on here i decided to ignore all subsequent correspondance , however i have just recived a letter from a debt collection agency (roxburghe) which is based in surrey (originally letters came from sheffield) demanding i pay £160 (original debt was £80)
They say that if i dont pay the will pass the matter to their solicitors (graham white) who will review my case for potential legal action.
Should I just ignore this letter as well ???0
