Northumberland Heath is not so great, I would stick to Bexleyheath/Barnehurst areas although just near the Pantiles comes under Erith although it is more on Bexleyheath boarders so roads like Swanton are good.

Thanks! That's good to know. What is the catchment area for the school? I'll add its post code to my search. Incidentally, do you have a rightmove link to your house? :p

Schools dont go by catchment areas anymore, they go by several things such as siblings, disabilities, walking distance etc. There are quite a few of my daughter's friends who live near me who go the school who drive there.

Actually, I don't either...Rightmove has just changed it's layout and links don't seem to be working. Can you maybe give me your post code and I'll do a search on that?

Was looking at rightmove just now and there seem to be some nice-ish houses in Welling. Is that a decent area? Are there some better parts we can keep an eye on?

Hi Mouche, personally I don't think that Welling and North Heath are as nice as Bexleyheath and Barnehurst.

Have you tried Bexley Village - now that is a nice place to live. Just the other side of the A2
  • Bexley's much nicer than Welling. I lived near Welling and didn't like it at all, but if you want to look at houses there the Sidcup side at the Bexleyheath end of Welling (near Danson Park - east of Danson Crescent) is probably the 'nicest' bit - you want the south side of the A207 rather than the north. I personally wouldn't bother with anything beyond the point where the High Street turns into Bellegrove Road, although there are some fairly nice houses in the Hill View Drive area (Sandringham Drive etc), near the council offices. However, the council offices are relocating to Bexleyheath and the land's being sold off, so I *think* there's going to be a lot of building work round there soon (not sure but I think they're planning to build new housing), so I'd look into that if you did like anything there. Not sure about the schools up there though.

Avoid North-Heath, Erith, and most parts of Barnehurst.

Bexleyheath is nice, but if you are interested in commuting, look at Dartford. Much better links into London (3 lines)....Some nice areas and some horrible, so be careful...I can advise on areas if you need.

Prices in Dartford cheaper than Bexley/heath.

However, if you have the cash, go for Sidcup, Chislehurst.

Don't bother with granville road its cra*; have a look around the Pantiles area of Bexleyheath; Cumberland Drive etc

    Good Luck

Hi I was wondering in what way Granville road is bad? We like the house so we'd like to know a bit more about the area/ street. Would really appreciate a bit more detail.
