Can I open a new isa this year?

I have just closed an isa which I opened 4 years ago, as I was so infuriated with the customer service - no statements for 2 years, requested a cash card 9 times which never arrived etc etc. I acted rather impulsively and went into the branch and closed the account! I realise now that I should have just transferred the funds into another account......
Anyway, my question is can I now open up a new isa this year and pay in the maximum annual amount? I can't remember if I paid anything into the previous one this year or not.
Thanks

You can assuming that you have not used any of this years allowance which is £3600 for a cash ISA or £7200 in a stocks and shares ISA or if you put less than £3600 into a cash ISA you can also put the balance into a stocks and shares ISA
Hope that helpsKeep the Faith:cool:0
