Where was your best holiday and why?

Mine is pretty boring compared with the others, but it was Cornwall in 1989. We had two weeks of gorgeous sunshine, lovely beaches, stayed in a lovely cottage and had some lovely meals out. I think the thing for me that made it so good (apart from the hot weather) was the fact that we had our elderly dog with us. We walked on the beach with her every morning, took her out with us every where and she loved it, running round like a puppy again. Three weeks after we got home she died of old age and we were just so pleased that we had given her a good time on holiday. I guess we are both just soppy.
Have enjoyed all my holidays at home or abroad (not that there have been that many) but that one will always be specialThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Difficult but I'll try;
1) New Zealand with stops in Raratonga, Fiji, Hawaii and LA
2) South Africa for Millennium test
3) Maldives
4) South America ( Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay)
5) Barbados for cricket
6) Windies cruise
7) Bahamas and Mexico cruise
8) Mexico west coast
9) Greek Isles on dive boat
10) Cyprus, Israel and Egypt.
Hoping the next one will go to number 1!0 -
This is my did I really have this holiday
It has to be the Gambia way back in 1986 not at all luxurious quite the opposite we had booked a last minute holiday with hotel allocated on arrival. Stone plinth as a bed with a 4ins piece of foam and a length of string held by 2 nails across the corner of the room to hang our clothes  "you get the picture" lol
but we met the most amazing people and as we was all in the same boat we made the most of the hotel from hell. One thing that will never leave my memory was we hired taxis "more like banger cars" :rotfl: to take us out for the day and we ended up meeting a chief of a tribe who took us to his own private beach where he sat and watched over us while sucking on the sugar lollie pops we gave him and on the way back he insisted that we go back and meet all his wives and children  and to top it all on the way back to the ritz!!! lol, our convoy of cars was stopped by a crowd of villagers who began shouting and banging on the cars  well it turn out that there had been a birth in the village and it would take a donation to let us through  when we arrived back the rep had been really worried about us
and yes this all true I have the pictures to prove it and I was much much younger and MSE site was not born But!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now I would say
1 Dubai
2 Bermuda
3 cape town
4 thailand
5 singapore
6 Bahamas
I'll stop now I see I am boring you

New Zealand.
It was love at first sight. It was just so relaxed and beautiful, and people were just less uptight.
It had a magical feeling, like it wasn't quite real.
I loved it, and I plan to emigrate to Rotorua, first chance I get.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Barbados
Barbados
Barbados
Barbados..........
Why?-because it's Barbados0 -
My husband and i went to Jamacia in 2003 we stayed in Montego Bay in a Wyndham resort. Our greatest memory of the place was whilst sunbathing and discovering that the music we were listening to was in fact a live steal band playing Bob Marley songs and not a speaker hiding in the greenary!  :j it was such a relaxing holidayMum to 2 beautiful daughters born Oct 05 & Oct 08

It doesn't cost anything to smile!:hello: :starmod: :starmod: :starmod: :starmod::starmod:0 -
