SSE have said that they hope to CUT rates early in the new year.
If they do then Ebico should follow.

No, They and no other suppliers will be legally able to pass VAT reduction onto customers

This is EU rules, the minum VAT rate is either zero or 5%, and since the Tories increased zero rated energy to 17.5% Labour was unable to legally reduce it back to zero, so it is stuck at minimum EU legal of 5%

    What is?

The suggested price cuts early next year will apply to all SSE customers on all tariffs (except any on fixed price tariffs of course!)

SSE will also be reducing costs this month for PPM customers by 3% "helping to narrow the price gap between them and customers paying by standard credit terms". This price change will not affect Ebico customers as there is no price differential anyway for Ebico customers on PPM compared to credit meters.

I see. So the rate of VAT for energy isn't 17.5% like it is for products etc.
