Vodaphone & wii - to good to be true?
I know next to nothing about mobiles. I have a motorola pebble because I like the look of it! It is pay as you go.
I am thinking about getting another phone cos the pebble is pretty useless. I went on the Vodaphone site because I had seen the cashback offer on a sim in Martin's weekly email. They have a deal on there for a phone and a wii at £35 a month.
Myself and my husband really want a wii but cannot afford one. Is this deal any good or too good to be true? Would it only be £35 a month I would pay? I don't use my phone that much. I probably make 1 or 2 calls a day to another mobile and text maybe twice a week.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but, as I say, I know nothing about mobiles.

Hi,
These deals are pretty common these days, but if all you really want is a Wii, it's an expensive way to get one.
The contract will usually be for 18 months so 18 * 35 means in total over the term of the contract, you would be paying £630.
With your usage you would be unlikely to go over the inclusive minutes so £35 is probably all you would pay each month.LBM : March 2008

Total cost of contract over 18 months = £630
Cost of Wii = £170 (approx)
Therefore the effective cost of the mobile contract is 630-170 = £460 ie. £25.56 per month.
If you are a light user you should be able to get a new phone and either pay as you go or a cheap contract for less than this per month so it'd be cheaper just to get a cheaper contract and buy a Wii!0 -
I ordered one of these about 10 days ago. Im already with vodafone on a contract for £20 a month which is due to expire soon so I didnt mind the extra £15 a month for the wii package.
So I ordered it, got an email saying my credit check had been approved and they will email again when the phone and wii is dispatched and i havent heard anything since! I've tried emailing them with my order reference but have had no reply.
Will let you know if i hear anything soon.0 -
Received the phone, received the guitar hero game but the wii was missing. Have tried calling the stated numbers but the offices closed at 6 (I didnt get home from work till 7) however it states you have 24 hours to report delivery problems so im hoping they are open tomorrow morning!0
