Phones4u cashback issue
Dear Friends,
did someone experienced any problem with phones4u cashback. I have got a contract with vodafone. I agreed for 500 minutes and 500 texts and I use to pay £40 / month. One day vodafone called me and asked for the same £40 you can get more which is 900 minutes and unlimited texts. Immediately I called phones4u and they said if you are paying same amount or more there wont be any problem with the cashback.
After that I agreed to change the tariff paying the same £40 and getting 900 minutes and unlimited texts. Now because of this VAT changes they might charge me only £39.something
As the bill is less, do you think there will be some problem. Please let me know your experiences.
Thank you

I would think that this should not affect your cashback as the VAT changes are beyond your control. Would stand your ground if the cashback is refused on this basis. However, someone else may have more knowledge on this than me0

They allow you to move to a higher tariff. It is therefore not the tariff which has gone down - and the amount would have gone down regaqrdless. I wouldn't anticipate any problems - just be grateful that you're with them and not a cpw company!0

lolz Mobilejunkie, i noticed u don't like cpw, e2save, onestophones... may be u faced problem with them, that doesn't mean everyone will... i know couple of friends.. who r using cpw & co's cash back deals for last couple of years..they haven't faced any big problem.. offcourse u have to accurate to maintain their rules..thats the main problem..many ppl can't follow those rules..0 -
Rubbish. Read the threads. The MAIN problem is that E2Save are NOW a totally differnet company who are utterly dishonest and unscrupulous. Following the correct t&c no longer matters too much. Suing is common even when people do. I still use them successfully - but I know a LOT of people just like you who have now realised things have changed. That all started as long ago as 18 months. You will change your opinion if/when one of your claims is selected for their special treatment - just as many other previously happy customers (now ex customers) have.0

Yeaaah... I agree with mobilejunkie...e2save and onestop terms are highly contraversial and it is not that easy to follow those terms...
Anyway, do you think if I change my plan (minutes and texts plan) and accept to pay £40, but because of these VAT changes if they are charging me £39..somenthing, it shouldn't effect my cashback....
Thank you0 -
I think you'll be ok - but can't be 100% certain. The VAT change doesn't worry me - all of us on cashback schemes are in the same situation. T&C always refer to the "tariff" you are on - and if allowed you can move to a higher one. They don't state the £ amount of the tariff - only the £ amount of cashback.0

Lots of us have followed the rules to the letter and still they play funny beggars with us.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Phones4u - or are you thinking of a rather different beast?0

CPW themselves have never given me problems e2save and the like do ofcourse give people plenty of problems.
I don't think its fair to judge CPW based on the others.0 -
"the others" are the same company. There are plenty of examples now of cpw itself is stuffing customers - just try cancelling a cpw O2 contract among many other things. Any company which dissowns another part in an attempt to cleanse itself is rotten to the core. There are a handful of eople who still haven't had problems - but they reduce daily.
Try telling all the people who have sue CPW (THAT'S who you you have to fight through the courts when you are forced to take them there!) who get stonewalled that they aren't the same! As far as I'm concerned, this company now stinks!0
